TL;DR
Principal Software Engineer (Java/TypeScript/AWS): Designing and evolving high-traffic data applications, shared architectures, deployment infrastructure, and QA platforms for Ticketmaster with an accent on scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability. Focus on leading cross-team technical strategy, modernizing cloud systems, resolving systemic risks, and building fault-tolerant, low-latency services.

What you will do
- Design and develop high-traffic systems, data flows, infrastructure, and enhancements to existing applications.
- Own technical strategy, architectural direction, shared engineering standards, and target architecture across three teams.
- Modernize infrastructure and build monitoring, alerting, performance metrics, automated build, and deployment systems.
- Lead resolution of cross-team technical risks and dependencies while ensuring scalability, reliability, security, low latency, and fault tolerance.
- Design and build a comprehensive QA platform and guide adoption of quality and delivery practices.
- Mentor engineers, review code, lead technical discussions, and coordinate deliveries with product, engineering, and business stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Proficiency in one or more of Java, TypeScript, or Node.js, with willingness to learn the others.
- 5+ years of experience building and deploying high-traffic web applications with a focus on quality and maintainability.
- Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms, production support, debugging, logs, dashboards, and on-call operations.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including MySQL and DynamoDB.
- Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm, GitLab, CI/CD, Jenkins, Sonar, and Agile delivery practices.
Nice to have
- Experience in entertainment or online ticketing.
- Experience operating across European, Asian, and South American cultural and regulatory environments.
- Understanding of using AI tools such as Claude in the software development lifecycle.
