Product Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid from the San Francisco Bay Area office, with regular team offsites.

Salary: $235,000–$260,000 base salary per year, plus equity.

The client builds an AI data infrastructure platform that converts web pages into clean, LLM-ready markdown or structured data for developers, AI agents, and companies.

What you will do

• Build and ship developer-facing product features from concept through production.
• Own the reliability of browser automation and agent-interaction capabilities as the web changes.
• Turn complex and ambiguous problems into clean, reliable APIs.
• Participate directly in roadmap decisions and engineering trade-offs.
• Use the product, review GitHub issues, and prioritize improvements based on developer needs.

Requirements

• 3–8 years of experience in product engineering, browser automation, web scraping, or AI agent tooling for external developers.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js, with hands-on experience in Playwright, Puppeteer, browser-use, Stagehand, or Chromium internals.
• Experience owning features end to end without dedicated product or design support.
• Strong focus on developer experience, including API latency, response formats, error messages, and documentation.
• Ability to work hybrid from the San Francisco Bay Area.
• Visa transfers are supported, including OPT and H-1B transfers.

Nice to have

• Founding engineer, MTS, or infrastructure experience at a DevTools or AI-agent startup.
• Repeat founder or founder-CEO experience with a shipped product and GitHub traction.
• Understanding of how AI agents select and use tools and how to make prompt-based browser interaction reliable.
