Staff NPI Program Manager, Integration (Battery Manufacturing)

Location: Alameda, California, United States; on-site and laboratory/manufacturing work required

Salary: $151,000–$191,000 annual base pay, plus potential benefits, equity, bonuses, and other rewards.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end new product introduction and qualification for battery cell products, suppliers, and external manufacturing partners.
• Manage cross-border partner relationships and coordinate deliverables across R&D, Product Management, Operations, Quality, and commercial stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain DFMEA and PFMEA frameworks for cell designs and manufacturing processes.
• Support qualification of battery materials, cell designs, and advanced manufacturing methods.
• Ensure products progress through global battery safety and certification pathways, including IEC, UL, GB/T, KC, and PSE.
• Own engineering BOMs, design specifications, and partner SOWs, then transfer mass-production-ready products to Operations.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in high-tech hardware product development, such as batteries, semiconductors, chemical processing, or automotive.
• Experience with lithium-ion battery manufacturing and cell qualification is strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrochemistry, or a related field.
• Practical knowledge of cell manufacturing processes, FMEA, and global safety and certification frameworks.
• Strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills, including presenting technical information to engineering and executive stakeholders.
• Ability to work on site, wear required PPE, and travel internationally up to 10% to partners in Asia, North America, and Europe.

Nice to have

• Fluency in Mandarin, Korean, or Japanese for communication with Asian manufacturing partners.
