Sr. Maintenance Technician

Location: Johnstown, New York, United States; onsite manufacturing environment

Salary: $35.41–$50.46 per hour

What you will do

• troubleshoot and repair production, facility, and auxiliary equipment to maintain uptime.
• Act as a subject matter expert for equipment such as blow molders, injection molders, fillers, cappers, labelers, case packers, conveyors, palletizers, and stretch wrappers.
• Perform root cause analysis, preventive and predictive maintenance, equipment overhauls, and reliability improvements.
• Develop troubleshooting SOPs and upload them to the BDA system.
• Train operators, mechanics, supervisors, and maintenance team members on equipment operation, setup, repair, and safety procedures.
• Work with plant leadership and cross-functional teams on upgrades, recurring issues, and continuous improvement projects.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment and in the position; experience may combine work experience and education.
• At least 4 years of experience managing people or projects.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and process instrumentation schematics.
• Experience with precision measuring equipment, shop equipment, power tools, and industrial maintenance systems.
• Regular and predictable attendance, on-call availability, ability to stand or walk for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and provide a personal toolbox and basic tools.

Nice to have

• 10 or more years of manufacturing maintenance or related position experience.
• Experience in blow molding, injection molding, packaging, or beverage manufacturing.
• Experience with Krones, Husky, Sidel, or similar bottling and packaging equipment.
• Experience with 480VAC and 24VDC systems, VFDs, servo motors, PLC I/O cards, communication buses, welding, and fabrication.
• Associate degree in manufacturing, mechatronics, industrial manufacturing, automation, or a related field.
