Underwriting - Houston IMS (Insurance)

Location: Atlanta, Georgia, United States; requires approximately 10% travel.

What you will do

• Analyze applications, websites, claims histories, and file notes to assess and determine the acceptability of risks.
• Underwrite and price exposures according to approved rates, guidelines, and policy terms.
• Recommend and bind coverage, issue invoices and policies, and track policy completion.
• Obtain and evaluate supplementary risk information and communicate with agents and brokers.
• Analyze endorsement requests and issue or track conditional, non-renewal, and cancellation notices.
• Support underwriting policy and procedure development and maintain regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of underwriting experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Property & Casualty experience and/or appropriate business licensure for direct client service and underwriting.
• Broad knowledge of the insurance industry, strong mathematical, negotiation, communication, organizational, analytical, and research skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and company systems.
• Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time.
