Customer Service Specialist (Industrial Automation)

Location: Clinton Twp, MI, United States; onsite in a normal office environment

Employee-owned distributor serving the electrical, automation, pipe, valve, fitting, steam, lighting, industrial controls, and instrumentation industries through eight divisions and more than 75 locations across ten states.

What you will do

• Process telephone, fax, and email orders and respond promptly to internal and external customers.
• Enter orders into Eclipse and Salesforce and document transactions according to quality procedures.
• Manage customer expectations regarding delivery timelines, product availability, freight, and order status.
• Follow up on quotes and provide feedback to outside sales representatives.
• Resolve customer issues, expedite orders when necessary, and develop workable long-term solutions.
• Maintain customer relationships while supporting sales and gross-profit growth objectives.

Requirements

• Entry-level work experience.
• Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
• Strong interpersonal, written, verbal, telephone, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask, shift priorities, work cross-functionally, and operate in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work onsite in Clinton Twp, Michigan, sit for up to eight hours per day, and perform standard office-based duties.

Nice to have

• Previous inside sales experience, preferably with related products or in an industrial or technical environment.
• Knowledge of level, pressure, flow, and temperature devices.
• Experience supporting a direct sales force.
• Technical or bachelor’s degree.
• Experience with Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, or Epicor/Solar Eclipse.
