Forward Deployed Engineer (AI)

Location: Multiple locations; the company describes its team as fully remote and globally distributed.

Salary: $150,000–$185,000 yearly.

What you will do

• Embed with client teams to map real-world business processes and translate operational needs into technical scope.
• Design and build production-grade agentic workflows with tool calling, memory, routing, retries, and failure recovery.
• Integrate agents with CRMs, ERPs, ticketing systems, warehouses, APIs, and document stores.
• Develop retrieval, structured output, function calling, prompt versioning, logging, and observability capabilities.
• Design evaluations, regression checks, guardrails, PII handling, and human-review steps for enterprise workflows.
• Run stakeholder workshops and demos, document solutions, and transfer reusable patterns to client and internal teams.

Requirements

• 3+ years of software engineering experience building production systems.
• Hands-on experience with LLM prompting, function calling, structured output, retrieval, and production agent or multi-step workflows.
• Strong integration experience with REST APIs, webhooks, SDKs, databases, authentication, pagination, rate limits, and unreliable upstream systems.
• Proficiency in Python, asynchronous programming, API design, SQL, and data systems.
• Experience with agent frameworks such as LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, or custom orchestration.
• Experience building RAG systems with chunking, embeddings, vector stores, and re-ranking, plus strong client-facing communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with LLM evaluation, LLM-as-judge approaches, and regression test suites.
• Background in process mapping, solutions engineering, forward-deployed work, or technical consulting.
• Experience with Temporal, Airflow, Zapier, n8n, or other workflow and integration platforms.
• Exposure to AWS Bedrock or SageMaker, GCP Vertex AI, or Azure ML.
