Senior Field Service Technician (Industrial Weighing)

Location: Columbia, Maryland, United States; must reside within the assigned service territory

What you will do

• Install, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial weighing and specialized equipment.
• Diagnose communication issues across scale terminals, computers, networks, printers, software, and PLCs.
• Configure proprietary software, printer templates, scale terminals, and integrated customer systems.
• Support projects involving weigh-in-motion systems, dimensioning equipment, checkweighers, tank scales, hoppers, and heavy-duty weighing systems.
• Coordinate with customers, sales teams, contractors, and technicians while leading or supporting service projects.
• Maintain service records, inventory, vehicles, tools, safety compliance, and required Weights and Measures documentation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive experience in field service, electro-mechanical repair, industrial weighing, instrumentation, or a related technical field.
• High school diploma or GED; an associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent education is preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, troubleshooting, PC networking, software configuration, and equipment integration.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to obtain and maintain a Class B CDL, fleet requirements, and required Weights and Measures licenses and certifications.
• Must reside within the assigned service territory; willingness to travel overnight approximately 10% of the time, potentially increasing to 25%.
• Ability to work safely in demanding environments, use personal protective equipment, pass required drug testing, lift up to 50 pounds, and work overtime as needed.
