Assistant Project Manager - Distributed Generation (Physical Security)

Location: On-site in Rochester, New York, United States. The role combines office and field work, including travel to company facilities and project sites.

Salary: $60,000–$90,000 per year

What you will do

• Support physical security infrastructure projects from initiation through closeout.
• Coordinate activities with operations, engineering, facilities, information technology, procurement, security stakeholders, contractors, and vendors.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, resource plans, status reports, risk registers, and project documentation.
• Maintain security infrastructure drawings, layouts, schematics, as-built records, asset inventories, and document repositories.
• Conduct site visits and assessments, support commissioning and testing, and verify installations against approved designs.
• Track expenditures, forecasts, invoices, compliance documentation, project metrics, and management dashboards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, project management, business administration, information technology, security management, or a related technical discipline.
• 2–5 years of experience in project management, engineering, construction, technical operations, security systems, or a related field.
• Knowledge of project lifecycle management, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, risk management, and concurrent project coordination.
• Familiarity with access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, security communications, and perimeter security systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and SharePoint.
• Ability to work on-site in Rochester and conduct field assessments in industrial, utility, and critical infrastructure environments.

Nice to have

• CAPM or PMP certification, or the ability to obtain PMP certification.
• Physical security project management experience and ASIS Physical Security Professional certification.
• Experience with NERC CIP environments, regulated utilities, energy, critical infrastructure, or security compliance.
• Experience with AutoCAD or similar drawing software and Power BI.
