Information Technology Subject Matter Expert (Storage & Data Protection)

Location: Tracy, California, United States. Candidates must be U.S. citizens or authorized to work in the U.S. and must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Secret security clearance. Visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Act as key personnel and technical advisor for enterprise SAN, NAS, object storage, backup, business continuity, and disaster recovery architecture.
• Design and maintain risk assessment frameworks, disaster recovery runbooks, failover validation methods, and continuity planning across on-premises and hybrid cloud environments.
• Lead the architecture, implementation, and lifecycle management of NetApp ONTAP, Pure Storage, Brocade Fibre Channel, Cohesity DataProtect, and Veritas NetBackup platforms.
• Implement storage security controls, including ransomware mitigation, immutability, encryption, DISA STIG compliance, IAVA remediation, and audit readiness.
• Troubleshoot complex storage, fabric connectivity, and backup issues; perform root cause analysis and communicate solutions to leadership.
• Automate provisioning, capacity forecasting, backup policy enforcement, and operational workflows using Python, PowerShell, Bash, and Infrastructure as Code.

Requirements

• Active U.S. Department of Defense Secret security clearance required, including IT-I / Critical-Sensitive determination and Tier 5 SSBI investigation.
• U.S. work authorization required; visa sponsorship is not available.
• DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification and at least one relevant computing environment certification required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
• At least five years of progressive enterprise IT engineering experience, including SAN/NAS administration, storage arrays, backup platforms, cloud storage, and federal or DoD environments.
• At least two years of technical leadership or advisory experience, plus expertise with Windows Server, RHEL, MPIO, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, scripting, and storage automation.
