Senior Software Engineer, Simulation Infrastructure

Location: Hybrid role requiring on-site work in the San Jose, California office three days per week

Salary: $184,000–$208,000 per year, plus equity and benefits

What you will do

• Build and support in-house simulation services for business development, mission design, operations, and ground and flight software engineering.
• Shape the architecture and best practices for simulation tools and translate complex technical goals into detailed proposals.
• Integrate physical simulation models into complete products and incorporate feedback from client teams.
• Develop off-nominal test scenarios and integrate simulation tools into automated testing campaigns.
• Plan and estimate work reliably while aligning the team with company goals and performance metrics.
• Mentor engineers across the Simulation and Test teams.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience in a team environment.
• Strong programming experience in Python and C++.
• Experience collaborating with specialized experts to deliver complex, cross-functional products.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related field.
• Willingness to work in novel technical domains and excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Must be eligible to access U.S. export-controlled information under applicable ITAR/EAR requirements.

Nice to have

• Numerical simulation techniques and statistical analysis.
• Julia, Linux systems administration, and Docker.
• Cloud deployment environments such as Kubernetes and virtual instances.
• Software-in-the-Loop simulation, CI/CD, and DevOps best practices.
• Familiarity with orbital satellite operations.
