UI/UX Graphic Designer (Remote)

Location: Fully remote within the United States

Salary: $110,000–$130,000 annually

What you will do

• Design slide decks, graphics, SharePoint pages, dashboards, customer journeys, and high-level screen designs for Veterans Affairs data modernization initiatives.
• Create workflows, user paths, storyboards, wireframes, mockups, low- and high-fidelity prototypes, and UI specifications across multiple applications and platforms.
• Conduct user research, analyze user data, and evaluate designs through UI reviews and cognitive walkthroughs.
• Collaborate with software developers, systems engineers, business owners, customers, and application stakeholders in an Agile development environment.
• Ensure applications meet IT accessibility standards and communicate design requirements to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Monitor design and usability trends and share relevant findings across teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
• Proven UI design experience and experience with mockup and wireframe tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud and Sketch.
• Experience delivering products across multiple browsers and platforms.
• Understanding of Section 508 accessibility standards.
• Excellent communication and writing skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a suitability/Public Trust clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience working with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
• Power BI experience.
• Agile certification such as PMI-ACP, CSM, CSP, SAFe Agilist, or SAFe Program Consultant.
• Experience with Agile tools including Jira, ServiceNow Agile, IBM Rational, CA Rally, TFS, ALM, or VersionOne.
