Salary: $23.00–$26.91 per hour, based on full-time equivalent

What you will do

• Manage patient flow, room utilization, delays, arrivals, no-shows, and provider availability in the outpatient setting.
• Prepare patients, examination rooms, medical records, supplies, and equipment for provider visits.
• Record vital signs, pain levels, medication information, patient histories, and other clinical documentation.
• Assist providers and nursing staff with examinations, treatments, procedures, specimen collection, and immunizations.
• Perform point-of-care testing, equipment quality checks, referrals, prior authorizations, billing documentation, and electronic record updates.
• Provide administrative and patient support, including telephone communication, interpreter coordination, supply management, and coverage of satellite locations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant national certification attestation from AAMA, AMCA, AMT, NCCT, or NHA.
• Basic Life Support certification, or the ability to obtain it within three months.
• Less than two years of Medical Assistant experience.
• Ability to read, write, and spell in English for patient communication and documentation.
• Knowledge of universal precautions, patient handling, HIPAA, patient safety, electronic medical records, and EPIC.

Nice to have

• Two years of Medical Assistant experience.
• Bilingual communication skills.
• Experience with electronic medical record systems.
