Medical Assistant Certified - Merrimack Family Medicine, Tewksbury

Location: Merrimack Family Medicine, 600 Clark Road, Suite 3, Tewksbury, Massachusetts 01876; occasional coverage of satellite locations may be required.

Salary: $23.00–$26.91 per hour, based on full-time equivalent.

What you will do

• Manage patient flow and coordinate room utilization in the outpatient clinic.
• Prepare patients, medical records, exam rooms, supplies, and equipment for visits.
• Record vital signs, pain levels, medication information, and other patient data.
• Assist providers and nursing staff with examinations, treatments, procedures, specimen collection, point-of-care testing, and immunizations as needed.
• Support referrals, prior authorizations, diagnostic testing, billing documentation, electronic record updates, and administrative communications.
• Maintain supplies, perform equipment quality checks, support quality improvement activities, and follow patient safety and infection-control procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant National Certification Attestation from AAMA, AMCA, AMT, NCCT, or NHA.
• Basic Life Support certification, or ability to obtain it within three months.
• Less than two years of Medical Assistant experience.
• Knowledge of EPIC and electronic medical record systems, with basic to moderate computer skills.
• Ability to read, write, and spell in English for accurate documentation and message taking.

Nice to have

• Two years of Medical Assistant experience.
• Bilingual communication skills.
• Experience with electronic medical record systems.
