Purchasing Intern (Supply Chain)

Location: Oshkosh, Wisconsin, United States. Willingness to travel or relocate to Oshkosh, WI and work full-time during the summer internship is required.

Salary: $18.00–$37.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Support commodity managers with supplier negotiations, selection, pricing, forecasts, performance management, scorecards, and corrective actions.
• Manage selected supplier pricing with mentorship and maintain accurate purchase-order pricing and component standard costs.
• Administer RFQs by distributing supplier packages, collecting quotations, and comparing pricing, lead times, and commercial terms.
• Coordinate part-number changes, cut-ins, Bill of Material updates, EDI, supplier-portal forecasts, and supplier communications.
• Work with tactical buyers to understand component flow into manufacturing plants, including SAP processes.
• Visit suppliers, support new-product development sourcing, and identify AI and digital tools that improve purchasing efficiency.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Economics, Logistics, or a related field.
• Expected graduation date of December 2027 or later.
• Must be willing to travel or relocate to Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and work full-time during the summer internship.
• Ability to multitask, work independently, prioritize workloads, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
