Manager, Contracting (Financial Services)

Location: Minneapolis, MN, United States

Salary: $120,000–$145,000 annually, plus eligibility for commission or an annual performance incentive plan.

What you will do

• Lead day-to-day contracting support for assigned business units, including intake prioritization, drafting, redlining, negotiations, RFP/RFI review, escalations, and signature readiness.
• Supervise, coach, train, and develop contracting staff while balancing workloads and reviewing document quality.
• Draft and negotiate complex customer, partner, vendor, data, financial services, and business-to-business agreements.
• Identify and coordinate resolution of legal, commercial, privacy, data-use, operational, financial, liability, pricing, security, and regulatory issues.
• Support sales and RFP teams by clarifying contract exceptions, assumptions, approvals, and risk positions.
• Own and improve contract playbooks, templates, clause guidance, fallback positions, approval paths, and escalation rules.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Legal, Business, or a related field with 7 years of relevant experience, or a high school diploma/GED with 9 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in contract drafting, redlining, negotiation, RFP support, contract operations, and staff supervision or team leadership.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Strong written communication, attention to detail, negotiation and business judgment, stakeholder management, workload management, and coaching skills.
• Experience with complex commercial, customer, partner, vendor, financial services, data, merchant services, credit bureau, or other regulated agreements is preferred.

Nice to have

• JD, MBA, paralegal certificate, contract management certification, or equivalent advanced contracting experience.
• 10+ years of experience negotiating regulated or complex commercial agreements.
• Experience with check, lockbox, B2B, promotional, pricing schedule, amendment, SOW, DPA, privacy, security, audit rights, and credit bureau agreements.
