Manager, Cloud

Location: Chicago, United States

Salary: $225,000–$275,000 annual base salary, plus an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Lead the design, implementation, management, and optimization of multi-cloud platforms across AWS, Azure, GCP, Alibaba Cloud, Snowflake, hybrid environments, and on-premises dependencies.
• Own the cloud roadmap and strategy, setting priorities for scalability, sustainability, security, performance, and innovation.
• Lead, mentor, hire, and develop a high-performing team of cloud engineers, including performance reviews and workload management.
• Partner with engineering, security, networking, and business teams to deliver reliable cloud solutions and resilient connectivity.
• Establish observability, monitoring, alerting, cost visibility, and operational excellence practices, serving as the escalation point for complex production issues.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience engineering and administering production cloud environments in multi-cloud and hybrid settings.
• Strong AWS experience and exposure to one or more of Azure, GCP, Alibaba Cloud, and Snowflake.
• 4+ years of experience managing and leading cloud engineering teams, including mentoring, performance reviews, and workload management.
• Strong knowledge of cloud networking, cloud security fundamentals, infrastructure as code, Terraform, Python, CI/CD, and Git.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver secure, scalable, high-performance cloud solutions in mission-critical environments, with FinOps and cost-management experience.
• Willingness to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation supporting production cloud environments.
