Software Infrastructure and Release Intern (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Redondo Beach, California, United States. The internship lasts 12 weeks from May/June through August/September 2027. Applicants must be able to work onsite for the duration of the internship.

Compensation: $32.00 per hour, with overtime pay available when applicable.

What you will do

• Develop and improve Git-based CI pipelines for software builds, testing, and deployment.
• Design and maintain deployment environments for spacecraft flight software and ground software.
• Debug hardware-in-the-loop systems across hardware, software, and test configurations.
• Use test automation tools to streamline build execution, data collection, and result analysis.
• Implement monitoring and data analysis for continuous integration and release systems.
• Collaborate with software and GNC engineers on automated deployment and test platforms.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with Linux operating systems, CI/CD tools, Git, and Gitflow.
• Experience with Bash, Python, or other scripting languages.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, organization, communication, and presentation skills.
• Must be willing and able to work onsite in Redondo Beach, California, for the full internship.
• Must satisfy U.S. ITAR requirements as a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or person eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorization.

Nice to have

• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
• Experience with build systems such as Make, CMake, or Bazel.
• Experience with cross-platform development, software development kits, and deployment pipelines.
• Knowledge of logging, monitoring, and alerting tools such as Grafana or Prometheus.
