Supplier Quality Engineer (Harnessing) (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite at hirify.global headquarters in Long Beach, California, United States. Candidates seeking to work in U.S. offices must meet applicable ITAR eligibility or authorization requirements.

Base salary: $70,000–$171,600 USD annually. Total compensation, including equity: $75,000–$228,500 USD annually.

What you will do

• Source and onboard suppliers by assessing manufacturing capabilities, processes, and quality systems.
• Develop supplier technical requirements, quality flow-downs, and process controls for hardware manufacturing.
• Oversee PPAP, supplier qualification, reliability activities, and compliance with industry standards.
• Analyze supplier quality and delivery metrics, identify trends, and drive improvement plans.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality gaps, escapes, and containments.
• Coordinate with purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, management, and suppliers to resolve technical quality issues and improve yield, cost, and cycle time.

Requirements

• Experience in a regulated industry such as aerospace, medical, automotive, or a similar field; required experience ranges from entry-level exposure to 8+ years depending on the level.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Mechatronic Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
• Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3 and the Space Addendum; certification is preferred.
• Experience with harnessing and cable manufacturing, including academic projects, clubs, or internships.
• Supplier-facing or supplier quality experience is preferred.
• For U.S. office work, candidates must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, qualifying refugees or asylees, or eligible to obtain required export authorizations under ITAR.

Nice to have

• Structured problem-solving using 8D, A3, or equivalent root cause analysis methods.
• AS9100 familiarity and exposure to NADCAP special process requirements.
• Statistical quality methods including SPC, Cp/Cpk, MSA/Gage R&R, Six Sigma, or Lean.
• PPAP-related methods including APQP, PFD, PFMEA, Control Plans, and FAIR.
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems, Jira, Confluence, or Power BI.
