VP, People Operations Manager - Global Payroll & HRIS

Location: New York, NY; hybrid/flexible working arrangements

Base salary: $130,000–$150,000 USD per year, plus discretionary bonus and equity incentives.

What you will do

• Support the Workday implementation through requirements gathering, business process design, configuration, integrations, data migration, testing, and issue resolution.
• Prepare and validate employee and payroll data, execute UAT and parallel payroll testing, and support the January 1, 2027 go-live.
• Manage global payroll operations across the US, UK, Ireland, Portugal, and EOR-supported countries, including payroll inputs, outputs, reconciliations, audits, and variance analysis.
• Coordinate employee lifecycle changes, payroll vendors, payroll funding, reporting, compliance activities, and Finance integrations.
• Administer and optimize Workday after go-live, including reporting, security, data integrity, process improvement, and system updates.
• Document SOPs, controls, training materials, and scalable People Operations workflows while supporting employee and manager inquiries.

Requirements

• 6+ years of relevant experience in People Operations, payroll, HRIS, HR technology, or a related field.
• Hands-on payroll operations experience, with global or multi-country payroll experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with Workday or another enterprise HRIS; direct Workday implementation experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience with data reconciliation, large datasets, reporting, analysis, and strong Excel skills.
• Strong project management, communication, organization, attention to detail, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional experience, with sound judgment when handling confidential employee and compensation data.

Nice to have

• Workday HCM or Payroll implementation experience involving a January 1 or year-start cutover.
• Payroll experience across North America, EMEA, or APAC and with multiple local payroll providers or global payroll platforms.
• Experience with payroll integrations, benefits integrations, Finance/GL processes, UAT scripts, parallel payroll testing, controls, SOPs, or audit processes.
• Experience in a high-growth global financial services or technology organization.
