Principal Epic Cogito Analytics Consultant

Location: San Francisco, United States. Remote work with onsite presence 3–5 days per month at the client site. Working hours: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM PST.

What you will do

• Assess Epic data architecture, reporting pipelines, and analytics workflows to identify gaps and optimization opportunities.
• Design scalable data models and BI architecture for enterprise reporting and population health.
• Develop production-ready reports and dashboards using Epic Chronicle, Clarity, Caboodle, Power BI, SSRS, Reporting Workbench, and SlicerDicer.
• Investigate data-quality issues, reporting discrepancies, and pipeline failures through root-cause analysis.
• Translate clinical, operational, financial, and executive requirements into validated analytics solutions.
• Support Microsoft Fabric or equivalent data-stack architecture, REST API integrations, Jira delivery management, documentation, automation, and analyst mentoring.

Requirements

• 7–10 years of progressive hands-on healthcare data analytics experience and experience owning enterprise BI or data-platform initiatives.
• Expert SQL skills, including complex queries, stored procedures, and data transformations.
• Strong hands-on experience with Power BI and SSRS.
• Direct experience with Epic Chronicle, Clarity, and Caboodle.
• Experience with healthcare data warehouse or lakehouse architecture, Microsoft Fabric or REST API-based integration, and Agile delivery with Jira.
• Knowledge of FQHC operations, revenue cycle, population health, value-based care, UDS, HEDIS, MIPS, CMS, HIPAA, and healthcare data governance.

Nice to have

• Epic Cogito Fundamentals, Caboodle Data Model, Clarity Data Model, Revenue Data Model, or Clinical Data Model certifications.
• Additional Epic certifications such as Healthy Planet, Compass Rose Analytics, or Caboodle Development.
• Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, or similar platforms; healthcare data governance and data dictionary experience.
• Exposure to AI/ML-assisted healthcare analytics and experience mentoring junior analysts.
• Second-language proficiency in Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese, or Spanish.
