Full Stack Developer (AI)

Location: McLean, VA; full-time onsite work required. U.S. citizenship required.

Salary: $95,000–$127,000–$139,700 annually, depending on location, experience, qualifications, and market conditions.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services supporting RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Architect and implement microservices-based systems with containerized deployments.
• Optimize performance using caching, queueing, load balancing, asynchronous processing, and efficient data-access patterns.
• Design and manage relational and NoSQL databases while maintaining reliability, performance, and data integrity.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with frontend developers and support production systems through monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, with at least 1 year of experience, or an equivalent education and experience combination.
• Active/current TS/SCI security clearance with the required polygraph.
• U.S. citizenship and willingness to work onsite full time.
• Strong server-side development and REST and GraphQL API design experience.
• Experience with microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, relational databases, and NoSQL databases.
• Working knowledge of JavaScript, React, or Lit for collaboration with UI teams.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting or integrating LLM-powered applications and AI-driven or adaptive user interfaces.
• Familiarity with Redis, Memcached, or similar caching technologies.
• Experience designing mission-critical, high-concurrency systems.
• Ability to adapt to evolving requirements and incorporate emerging backend technologies.
