Full Stack Engineer (AI/API)

Location: Onsite in Austin, Texas, United States

Salary: $144,000–$161,000 per year, plus eligibility for bonus or incentive opportunities.

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate enterprise API gateway capabilities using Google Apigee or comparable API management technologies.
• Develop reusable API proxies, shared flows, policies, security controls, onboarding automation, and cloud-native integration patterns.
• Support strategic migrations, enterprise API onboarding, API modernization, and large-scale traffic management.
• Implement AI-assisted development practices, AI agents, intelligent workflows, and automation to improve engineering productivity.
• Improve platform observability, monitoring, alerting, performance analysis, reliability, and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with architecture, engineering, security, infrastructure, product, and business stakeholders while leading technical initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related field.
• 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, including ownership of platform capabilities and technical delivery.
• 3+ years designing, building, and operating API gateway platforms, including Google Apigee, with experience in API proxies, shared flows, policies, target servers, and key-value maps.
• Strong programming experience with Java, .NET, or Python, including enterprise applications, backend services, microservices, and API integrations.
• Experience with OAuth 2.0, mutual TLS, API key validation, certificate-based authentication, CI/CD, networking, TLS/SSL, DNS, load balancing, observability, and automated testing.
• Ability to lead initiatives, make sound technical decisions, manage competing priorities, and deliver scalable, secure, and resilient solutions with limited supervision.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI-Driven Development Lifecycle initiatives, agentic workflows, intelligent orchestration, or multi-agent solutions.
• Experience supporting API platforms in regulated financial-services environments.
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems, enterprise onboarding, modernization, CDN or edge platforms such as Akamai, and Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience creating architecture standards, reusable reference patterns, developer enablement tools, or platform automation frameworks.
