Senior Fullstack Engineer (Python, FastAPI & AI-Assisted Development)

Location: Remote from Colombia, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, or Costa Rica; U.S. client business hours are required, with flexibility for sprint reviews, deployments, and production support.

hirify.global is hiring for a client building a mission-critical tax filing platform.

What you will do

• Architect and build a secure, scalable tax filing platform from the ground up.
• Develop production-grade backend services, REST APIs, business logic, integrations, and asynchronous workflows with Python and FastAPI.
• Build responsive frontend interfaces, reusable components, and workflow-driven dashboards and forms with modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Drive end-to-end architecture, data models, service boundaries, technical decisions, and scalability improvements.
• Use Cursor and Claude Code to accelerate coding, debugging, testing, documentation, and engineering workflows.
• Improve application reliability through automated testing, security controls, performance optimization, refactoring, and technical documentation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional full-stack software engineering experience.
• Strong expertise in Python, FastAPI, REST API development, and production application delivery.
• Strong frontend development experience with modern JavaScript frameworks, especially for workflow-driven or form-heavy applications.
• Hands-on experience with Cursor, Claude Code, and AI-assisted development tools.
• Experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases, Git, API integrations, and secure application development.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills and availability during U.S. client business hours.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, tax software, compliance platforms, or financial systems.
• Experience building highly secure applications and designing scalable software architecture.
• Familiarity with asynchronous collaboration in distributed engineering teams.
