Labour Market Information Specialist

Location: Remote within Canada; travel within Canada as required.

Salary: CAD 70,000–80,000 per year.

What you will do

• Collect, analyze, interpret, and communicate labour market information at national, provincial, community, and neighbourhood levels.
• Track funder and customer activities, policies, personnel, media releases, social media, and RSS feeds.
• Support Employment Services and Contract Manager teams in evaluating the Service Provider Network and operational performance.
• Develop and participate in research projects, including employment indexes and third-party collaborations.
• Localize labour market information for bids, catchment areas, communities, and neighbourhoods.
• Maintain resource libraries and produce reports, graphs, interactive maps, inclusion-group profiles, and business-plan data.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, economics, business administration, or a related discipline; a master’s degree is preferred.
• At least five years of experience compiling, analyzing, and presenting labour market information, data, and reports.
• Experience developing and analyzing surveys and questionnaires using tools that meet Canadian FOIP requirements.
• Knowledge of government statistical databases, including Statistics Canada Census data, and strong analytical report-writing skills.
• Advanced to intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Project, and PowerPoint; strong Power BI proficiency.
• Strong communication, collaboration, facilitation, organization, and independent working skills; successful completion of a Criminal Record Check is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with research projects in the human services industry.
• Experience with interactive mapping software such as My Maps and QGIS.
• Experience creating custom data visuals, including graphs and interactive maps.
• Master’s degree or equivalent relevant education and experience.
