Prompt Engineer / Conversational Designer (AI)

Location: Austin, Texas, United States; hybrid work with in-office attendance 2–3 times per week. Real working-hours overlap with Austin and Israel is required.

What you will do

• Design multi-turn dialogue flows for voice and text agents, including context awareness, memory handling, personality, and tone.
• Write, version, and maintain system prompts, conversation flows, reusable templates, and a prompt library.
• Build harnesses and scripts for prompt testing and prototyping.
• Test agents using real recordings, transcripts, and simulations before and after launch.
• Identify and resolve hallucinations, inappropriate tone, dead ends, and token waste in live interactions.
• Partner with product managers and engineers to translate requirements into technically feasible agent experiences while supporting compliance and privacy needs.

Requirements

• Based in Austin and able to commute to the downtown office a couple of days per week.
• Approximately 1–2 years of hands-on prompt engineering experience, including writing, building, and iterating on prompts.
• Evidence of designing AI experiences rather than only evaluating or ranking model outputs.
• Technical ability to build testing tools and collaborate with engineers on integrations and constraints.
• Familiarity with LLM APIs such as OpenAI and Anthropic, plus conversational frameworks such as LangChain.
• Strong writing, linguistic, communication, cross-functional collaboration, and cultural-sensitivity skills; basic programming ability, preferably in Python.

Nice to have

• Experience in healthtech, hardware, healthcare, caregiving, or another regulated industry.
• Multilingual proficiency.
• Experience with voice-agent tools such as VAPI.
