Member of the Technical Staff, GTM (Data Engineering)

Location: New York City or San Francisco, United States

Salary: $170,000–$260,000 per year in San Francisco; compensation may be adjusted based on employee location.

What you will do

• Own reliable pipelines bringing billing, usage, and contract data into the warehouse.
• Diagnose and resolve data quality and freshness issues at the source.
• Design and maintain dbt models for revenue recognition, margin analysis, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Build datasets and semantic models for Finance dashboards, planning, forecasting, and close.
• Establish testing, documentation, reconciliation, lineage, and code quality standards.
• Partner with FP&A, Accounting, and Revenue stakeholders, mentor engineers, and guide technical direction.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a related field.
• Strong SQL and Python skills with production-grade, testable code experience.
• Hands-on experience with dbt or a comparable transformation framework, dimensional modeling, ELT/ETL, and orchestration tools such as Airflow or Dagster.
• Direct experience with Finance data, including usage-based billing, revenue recognition, financial close, or forecasting metrics.
• Ability to translate ambiguous business questions into technical specifications and durable data models.
• Strong communication, independent architecture judgment, technical ownership, and mentoring experience.
