Software Engineer 1 (Java)

Location: On-site in Annapolis Junction, Maryland, United States. United States citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance with an agency-appropriate polygraph are required.

Salary: $52.46–$107.37 per hour

What you will do

• Analyze requirements and design, develop, modify, debug, and integrate complex software systems.
• Build processing-intensive analytics, algorithms, real-time systems, and large-scale data solutions.
• Develop database queries, repository interfaces, and software components using documented requirements and performance standards.
• Review software, execute tests, document results, and resolve software problem reports.
• Contribute to system design decisions involving hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, and COTS/GOTS solutions.
• Provide input on documentation and development processes and serve as a project-level team lead when appropriate.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with an agency-appropriate polygraph.
• United States citizenship.
• Seven years of software engineering experience on programs or contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline; four additional years of relevant software engineering experience may substitute for the degree.
• Professional experience with Java, requirements gathering, documentation, workflow, and problem solving.
• Knowledge of Confluence, JIRA, or similar tools.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, Maven, Git, GitLab, MapReduce, JUnit, code coverage, Python, streaming, and Linux.
• Exposure to AI.
