Staff Software Engineer (AI/ML)

Location: Sunnyvale, California, United States; designated home office at 815 Eleventh Ave

Salary: $143,000–$286,000 annual base salary, plus performance-based bonuses and potential stock compensation.

What you will do

• Deliver infrastructure, tooling, and ML framework capabilities aligned with roadmap milestones and domain priorities.
• Design scalable, resilient cloud-native systems using microservices, containers, and automation.
• Lead the full software development lifecycle, including coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Conduct system design reviews and build AI-driven applications with ML components and automation features.
• Define technical requirements with stakeholders and track success metrics through data-driven practices.
• Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering excellence through documentation and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or a related field plus 4 years of software engineering experience, or 6 years of relevant experience.
• Strong Java proficiency and experience with other programming languages such as Python for AI/ML integration.
• Expertise in cloud-native architecture, microservices, containers, automation, and scalable systems.
• Experience with full software development lifecycle activities, CI/CD, system design reviews, software design patterns, API design, prototyping, and debugging.
• Strong problem-solving, data-driven decision-making, collaboration, and mentorship skills.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or a related field with 2 years of software engineering experience.
• Experience implementing WCAG 2.2 AA standards, using assistive technologies, and applying digital accessibility best practices.
