What you will do

  • Develop and deliver coding and documentation education for physicians and advanced practice providers.
  • Interpret coding guideline changes, payer updates, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct coding and documentation reviews to identify education and performance improvement opportunities.
  • Analyze audit results, denial patterns, coding accuracy metrics, and charge capture opportunities.
  • Coach providers individually and deliver specialty-specific education for oncology and urology coding.
  • Collaborate with coding, compliance, revenue cycle, and operational leaders on documentation and coding trends.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • 2–3 years of experience in healthcare coding, charge capture, compliance, auditing, or provider education.
  • Working knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent credential.
  • Knowledge of professional fee coding, E/M coding, documentation requirements, medical necessity, payer policies, reimbursement, and compliance regulations.
  • Experience with provider education, clinical documentation improvement, coding audits, EHR and coding or billing software, and Microsoft Office applications.

Nice to have

  • Associate degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience with Urology/Oncology-specific coding requirements.
  • Experience developing educational materials, tip sheets, presentations, and provider communications.
