Quality Control Engineer (Industrial Refrigeration)

Location: Lyndhurst, Virginia, USA; onsite work involving fabrication areas, heights, confined spaces, and varying conditions.

hirify.global provides custom-engineered industrial refrigeration and process cooling systems using natural refrigerants such as ammonia and CO₂. The company handles engineering, manufacturing, construction, commissioning, service, and aftermarket support in-house.

What you will do

• Conduct quality inspections throughout all stages of fabrication.
• Maintain, revise, and improve Standard Operating Procedures to support compliance and best practices.
• Investigate quality issues, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and other departments to implement and validate quality solutions.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and performance.
• Train and support employees on quality procedures and standards while maintaining required documentation.

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and practical experience using tools and machinery.
• Welding experience is highly preferred, with the ability to assess weld quality.
• Investigation skills and the ability to write clear, actionable quality reports.
• Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in heat, cold, dust, and noise.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly, 75 pounds occasionally, and remain on foot for most of the shift; willingness to travel nationally to job sites as needed.

Nice to have

• Experience in manufacturing, construction, or other industrial environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Mechanical, electrical, maintenance, or related quality experience.
• Knowledge of ammonia and CO₂ refrigeration systems and safety or environmental regulations.
• Professional Engineering License.
