Manufacturing Engineer (Automation)

Established manufacturing operations focused on high-performance translucent daylighting solutions within an architectural glass business.

What you will do

• Identify, design, propose, and implement manufacturing process and equipment improvements for safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency.
• Provide leadership and hands-on technical support for manufacturing operations and maintenance.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and document automated equipment breakdowns.
• Create and maintain engineering drawings, manufacturing work instructions, and maintenance procedures.
• Design tooling, fixtures, and small- to medium-scale equipment for in-house fabrication.
• Support capital equipment specification and procurement and implement root-cause corrective actions with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology.
• 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering.
• Proficiency in CAD, such as AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office.
• Experience troubleshooting control components and motion systems in automated equipment.
• Creative problem-solving, corrective-action implementation, and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with 3D printing.
• Experience in assembly, CNC machining, testing, heat treating, bending, welding, or finishing.
