Patient Access Associate Specialist - PRN (Healthcare)

Location: On-site at Covenant-St. Mary's in Lewiston, Maine; applicants must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $18.00–$19.15 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

• Register patients, assign medical record numbers, collect demographic and insurance information, and process physician orders.
• Complete eligibility, medical-necessity, compliance, and insurance verification checks to support accurate billing and clean claims.
• Conduct pre-registration, patient calls, point-of-service collections, past-due balance follow-up, and payment-plan discussions.
• Explain treatment consents, Medicare and Tricare notices, observation forms, ABNs, and other patient documents; obtain required signatures.
• Audit patient accounts, correct data, complete quality reports, and provide statistical information to Patient Access leadership.
• Operate the telephone switchboard and provide compassionate service to patients, guardians, colleagues, and healthcare departments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of customer service experience.
• Ability to work on-site at Covenant-St. Mary's in Lewiston, Maine.
• Must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States.
• CRCR certification required within six months of hire; certification costs are covered by the company.
