Senior Director - Health and Safety (Renewable Energy)

Location: Hybrid role based at the company's headquarters in Longueuil, Quebec, Canada, with regular travel throughout Canada and the United States.

What you will do

• Define and execute the enterprise Health & Safety strategy, governance framework, standards, and performance expectations.
• Advise executive leadership and the Board on Health & Safety risks, performance, opportunities, and emerging trends.
• Lead the development of a proactive safety culture, leadership capability, employee engagement, and accountability across operations and projects.
• Oversee Health & Safety management systems, regulatory compliance, audits, critical controls, emergency preparedness, and corrective actions across multiple jurisdictions.
• Lead digital transformation, training, competency development, continuous improvement, and modernization of Health & Safety reporting systems.
• Build and mentor a high-performing Health & Safety team while managing departmental resources, budgets, and investment priorities.

Requirements

• 12+ years of progressive Health & Safety leadership experience in industrial, utility, energy, infrastructure, construction, or similarly complex operating environments.
• 7–10 years of senior leadership experience managing multi-site and geographically dispersed teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Professional designation such as CRSP, CSP, CHSC, CIH, P.Eng., or equivalent accreditation.
• Expert knowledge of Health & Safety management systems, enterprise risk management, ISO 45001, North American regulatory frameworks, incident investigation, crisis management, and organizational change.
• French and English bilingualism, written and spoken, is required.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
• Experience in renewable energy, utilities, power generation, or large infrastructure projects.
• Experience with Health & Safety Management Systems, Loss Prevention Systems, Learning Management Systems, and Microsoft Office.
