System Functional Safety Manager (Automotive Systems)

Location: Hybrid; candidates must be based in the United States, preferably Michigan, or Canada, preferably Ontario or Quebec

What you will do

• Lead system-level functional safety activities according to ISO 26262 Parts 2, 3, and 4.
• Support safety plans, DIA, safety cases, impact analyses, gap assessments, and supplier coordination.
• Lead HARA activities and derive safety goals for automotive systems.
• Translate safety goals into Functional and Technical Safety Concepts and perform FMEA, FTA, and DFA.
• Develop and maintain safety verification and validation plans, specifications, test cases, reports, and compliance evidence.
• Review functional safety work products and participate in technical discussions with OEMs, suppliers, and business development stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in system safety engineering focused on automotive systems.
• Strong practical knowledge of ISO 26262 Parts 2, 3, and 4, including FSCs, TSCs, FSRs, and TSRs.
• Hands-on experience with FMEA, FTA, and DFA, plus experience with automotive and off-road vehicles.
• Ability to interface with hardware and software functional safety teams working under ISO 26262 Parts 5 and 6.
• Must be a Canadian or American citizen or a permanent resident of Canada or the United States.
