EHS Specialist (Manufacturing)

Salary: $68,200–$75,000 per year

What you will do

• Implement and maintain corporate and site-specific environmental, health, safety, and ergonomics programs.
• Ensure compliance with Ontario OHSA, federal and provincial requirements, internal standards, and industry best practices.
• Act as the primary site liaison with MLITSD, WSIB, and other regulatory agencies.
• Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and develop and verify corrective actions with operational and support teams.
• Coordinate safety training, orientations, toolbox talks, inspections, audits, regulatory visits, and certification tracking.
• Track EHS metrics, risks, trends, committee actions, and improvement opportunities for site and senior leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in EHS or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5–8 years of professional experience, or 10–12 years without a completed degree depending on academic achievement.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, materials, and applicable EHS codes and regulations.
• Ability to organize and manage projects with strong initiative, self-direction, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Ability to perform all essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice to have

• CRST or other professional EHS certification.
