Senior Analyst, Markets Middle Office Trade Controls

Location: London, with hybrid attendance of at least two days per week or 40% of working time at an office site

What you will do

• Undertake and supervise intraday T0 reconciliations across derivatives, foreign exchange, money markets, financial futures, bonds and repos.
• Investigate reconciliation breaks and trade exceptions, complete root cause analysis and support timely resolution.
• Work with Front Office, Markets platform teams and support functions on trade amendments, systemic issues and recurring breaks.
• Use and update automation tools, analytics and AI-enabled controls to strengthen proactive risk management.
• Review colleagues’ reconciliations, challenge decisions constructively and recommend control improvements.
• Support risk, control and audit activity while sharing product and control knowledge with colleagues.

Requirements

• Solid understanding of Middle Office control frameworks, reconciliations, exception management and reporting.
• Experience investigating and resolving reconciliation breaks or trade exceptions.
• Product knowledge in one or more areas including derivatives, foreign exchange, money markets, financial futures, bonds or repos.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and root cause analysis skills, with attention to detail and the ability to meet daily control deadlines.
• Understanding of risk, control and audit processes, plus the ability to communicate with Front Office and internal support teams.
• Ability to review work, challenge decisions, recommend improvements and guide colleagues.

Nice to have

• Experience in Markets, Markets Operations or a Middle Office environment.
• Experience with trade-processing or Markets platforms.
• Experience in automation, analytics or data-led process improvement within a control environment.
• Experience supporting audit or second- and third-line risk and control teams.
• Understanding of AI-enabled controls and their application to operational risk management.
