Analyst (Governance & Compliance) (Fintech)

What you will do

• Support the design and rollout of data governance covering ownership, definitions, lineage, retention, and data quality.
• Translate Consumer Duty, CASS, KYC/AML, GDPR, and other regulatory requirements into data controls, monitoring, and reporting.
• Build and maintain SQL and dbt transformations, data models, dashboards, reports, and semantic-layer documentation.
• Automate recurring reports, reconciliations, alerts, and manual workflows using version-controlled and tested practices.
• Use AI-enabled tools responsibly for analysis, coding, quality assurance, and documentation.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Risk, Legal, Operations, Product, Commercial, and data stakeholders to communicate findings and support decisions.

Requirements

• Experience as a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, Compliance Analyst, or in a similar role.
• Strong SQL skills and hands-on dbt experience or the ability to learn modern transformation tooling quickly.
• Experience with data governance and relevant regulatory or compliance topics.
• An engineering mindset with a track record of automating, simplifying, or redesigning manual processes.
• Comfort with Git, modern analytics engineering practices, and BI tools such as Metabase, Lightdash, Omni, or Looker.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, verbal, and stakeholder communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience or strong interest in AI-assisted coding, prompt engineering, and workflow automation.
• Experience in fintech or financial services.
