Critical Operations Technician II (Data Center)

Location: Plano, Texas, United States. On-site data center role with variable working hours, including weekends, holidays, late nights, and on-call support. Travel is none or less than 5%.

What you will do

• Operate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, building monitoring, control, and fire life safety systems.
• Maintain chilled water, HVAC, CRAC/CRAH, humidification, fan wall, chiller, UPS, PDU, RPP, switchgear, and critical power systems.
• Track operational trends, analyze facility conditions, and recommend improvements that increase efficiency and reliability.
• Execute preventive and predictive maintenance, manage maintenance discrepancies in the CMMS, and support asset and consumable inventory control.
• Coordinate power installations and upgrades while managing systems to prevent unplanned customer-impacting outages.
• Perform facility and security tours, respond to incidents, write follow-up reports, support customers, and develop maintenance procedures.

Requirements

• Must be eligible to work in the United States and pass a comprehensive background screening.
• High school diploma or equivalent and 3–5 years of experience in data center or other mission-critical operations.
• Strong understanding of data center electrical and mechanical systems, including UPS, transformers, PDUs, RPPs, chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, STS, ATS, and pre-action systems.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70E, NFPA 72, NFPA 25, applicable building codes, and fire life safety compliance.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, database software, data center trending, analysis, and PC-based monitoring systems.
• Ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment, lift or move up to 25 pounds, and provide support outside normal business hours.

Nice to have

• United States Navy Nuclear Engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
