Bindery Operator (Cutter, Folder, or Stitcher)

What you will do

• Set up, adjust, and operate bindery and finishing equipment, including cutters, folders, collators, stitchers, drills, binders, and gluing machines.
• Operate complex automatic and multi-station machines that convert printed sheets into books, catalogs, manuals, directories, magazines, and other finished products.
• Coordinate machine stations and make adjustments for paper weight, color, machinability, and quality.
• Inspect equipment for safety issues and monitor quality, output, and productivity.
• Direct production crews and train and mentor new and existing employees.

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret work orders and bindery specifications.
• Ability to calculate distances, clearances, and fits when combining machines.
• Experience using standard and specialized tools to adjust and maintain bindery machines.
• Knowledge of automatic binders, multi-station collators, folding units, cutting equipment, and specialized finishing operations.
• Knowledge of coated and uncoated paper stocks and their machining requirements.
• Availability for full-time, first-shift production work in Smyrna, TN.
