What you will do
- Draft, file, and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications.
- Conduct patentability assessments, FTO analyses, and global patent portfolio management.
- Advise on patent validity, infringement, clearance, product development, commercialization, and strategic transactions.
- Develop IP strategies with R&D and technical teams aligned with business objectives.
- Support M&A, licensing, collaboration agreements, patent litigation, and opposition proceedings.
- Coordinate with inventors, internal stakeholders, senior leaders, and external counsel.
Requirements
- Fluency in Mandarin and English.
- J.D. degree or equivalent legal qualification.
- Licensed attorney in the U.S. or Taiwan.
- Registration to practice before the USPTO or Taiwan Intellectual Property Office.
- Technical background in chemistry, chemical engineering, or materials science.
- 5–10+ years of IP attorney experience, including patent prosecution, FTO analysis, litigation, people management, and complex technology agreement negotiation.
Nice to have
- Experience with electronic materials, including semiconductor, lithographic, advanced packaging, metallization, or display technologies.
- Law firm and in-house legal experience.
