Senior Associate Scientist (Chemistry)

Location: On-premise in Pearl River, New York, United States. Candidates must have permanent authorization to work in the United States.

Annual base salary: $68,600–$114,300, plus eligibility for a 7.5% performance bonus.

What you will do

• Perform routine sample testing in support of early vaccine development.
• Prepare samples, operate analytical instruments, and analyze data.
• Execute routine assays for vaccine candidates under guidance.
• Document experiments and reporting in an electronic laboratory notebook according to hirify.global and GCLP requirements.
• Draft and revise laboratory methods and reports.
• Plan daily workflows and support laboratory maintenance, reagent preparation, equipment maintenance, and waste management.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience in analytical characterization of biomolecules.
• Technical proficiency in HPLC or UPLC, capillary electrophoresis, and UV-Vis or fluorescence spectroscopy.
• Experience characterizing proteins, polysaccharides, or lipid nanoparticles.
• Familiarity with ChemStation, OpenLab, or Empower data analysis software.
• Permanent U.S. work authorization is required; visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Experience with LC-MS characterization of proteins.
• Experience using generative AI tools such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot for problem solving and productivity.
• Understanding of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
