Manufacturing Engineering Manager (Defense Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite in Walpole, Massachusetts, United States. U.S. citizenship is required, along with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret-level DoD security clearance.

Salary: $117,619–$176,427 per year

What you will do

• Lead, develop, and train the manufacturing engineering team as the technical authority for production methods.
• Ensure manufacturing processes meet health, safety, environmental, quality, cost, delivery, and lead-time requirements.
• Define process requirements, make technical decisions, and drive Right First Time manufacturing.
• Govern manufacturing process improvements, innovation, digital manufacturing, manufacturing technology, and product introduction activities.
• Manage engineering workload, capacity planning, budgets, deliverables, risks, and project timelines.
• Implement lights-out manufacturing using advanced 5-axis machine technology.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 8+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
• Experience leading significant projects across multiple manufacturing engineering processes.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret-level DoD Security Clearance.
• Experience with complex 5-axis machining, welding, and large assemblies in a high-mix, low-volume environment.
• Experience leading engineering teams and managing complex manufacturing changes, capital investments, technology insertion, product introductions, or process revalidation.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Engineering with 6+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
• Experience with defense mil-spec products and digital manufacturing solutions.
• Experience preparing project quotes with program managers and managing customer and stakeholder relationships.
• Track record of improving operational performance through cross-functional collaboration.
