Quality Operations Manager (Aerospace)

Location: Kinston, North Carolina, United States; 90% on-site and 10% remote

What you will do

• Lead quality assurance and compliance activities across the manufacturing lifecycle.
• Conduct internal and external audits and inspections, identify non-conformances, and drive corrective actions.
• Manage continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and related methodologies.
• Analyze quality metrics, reduce defects, and implement preventive measures across production lines.
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to integrate quality requirements into design, production, and sourcing.
• Lead risk assessments, root cause investigations, CAPA implementation, and quality team development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field.
• At least 10 years of quality management experience in a regulated aerospace or defense manufacturing environment.
• Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Auditor, or equivalent ASQ certification.
• Proficiency in AS9100, ISO 9001, audit practices, CAPA processes, and manufacturing quality management systems.
• Strong knowledge of aerospace regulations, EASA compliance, analytical problem-solving, and decision-making.
• Must be eligible for employment in the United States; current work authorization is required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Experience leading multi-site quality operations or working with international aerospace regulatory bodies.
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, APQP, PPAP, ETQ, MasterControl, SAP, MES, Minitab, or JMP experience.
• Experience presenting quality metrics and audit findings to senior leadership and external regulators.
