SQL/Python Developer

Location: Swindon, Wiltshire, United Kingdom; hybrid work with office attendance up to 3 days per week and occasional travel to client sites

What you will do

• Build and maintain reporting data warehouses, BI datasets, data pipelines, and reporting solutions.
• Develop machine learning algorithms in the Microsoft Fabric Notebooks environment.
• Write SQL queries, stored procedures, and views for data transformations.
• Develop Power BI datasets, DAX measures, calculation logic, refresh schedules, and gateway connections.
• Test data accuracy, model performance, report responsiveness, and visual quality.
• Monitor daily pipelines, resolve failures, support root-cause analysis, and promote changes through Dev, Test, and Production environments.

Requirements

• Strong SQL skills using environments such as SSMS and Visual Studio.
• Advanced Python experience, including development in the Fabric Notebooks environment.
• Proven Power BI Desktop and Service experience, including Fabric Data Engineering, Data Factory, and Data Science features.
• Experience managing build, release, and deployment processes within a DevOps framework.
• Analytical, reporting, communication, and stakeholder presentation skills.
• Hold or be able to obtain security clearance.

Nice to have

• Web development experience.
• .NET application development knowledge.
• Knowledge of other machine learning languages.
• Estates management reporting experience or knowledge of CAFM systems such as Concept Evolution.
