What you will do
- Develop end-to-end data solutions for complex business challenges using internal, third-party, and diverse structured and unstructured datasets.
- Conduct ad hoc analysis and develop predictive and prescriptive models to support evidence-based business decisions.
- Apply statistical analysis, machine learning, generative AI, and empirical research to identify trends and generate business insights.
- Collaborate with data scientists, technical disciplines, product teams, business teams, and the wider data and analytics community.
- Conceptualize new analytical approaches, communicate their business value, and take solutions through to implementation.
- Contribute to AI-enhanced underwriting and broader data culture initiatives across the London Market.
Requirements
- Degree in a STEM or closely related field, or equivalent experience.
- Practical data science experience applying analytical techniques to business problems and delivering insights.
- Experience with data analysis, experimentation, and model development.
- Strong knowledge of statistical concepts and their practical application.
- Experience with Python, SQL, analytical tools, programming languages, and databases.
- Ability to critically review, validate, explain, and take ownership of AI-assisted work while collaborating effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Working knowledge of large language models, prompt engineering, AI-assisted coding tools, and agentic AI workflows.
- Exposure to Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience in finance or insurance.
- Further degree or knowledge of insurance industry practices.
