Embedded Data Engineer (ML)

Location: London, hybrid; office attendance required for a minimum of 60% of the time over a 12-week period

Base salary: £60,000–£67,500 per year

What you will do

• Design and build scalable data pipelines, data models, and feature stores for analytics and machine learning workloads.
• Deploy and maintain cloud-native data applications on AWS using CI/CD pipelines.
• Ensure the performance, observability, technical quality, and reliability of production data pipelines.
• Collaborate with Machine Learning Engineers and Data Scientists to build structured datasets for ML use cases.
• Share engineering knowledge and align on data platform and analytics best practices.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of Python and SQL.
• Experience building data pipelines for machine learning workloads, including feature engineering and model training workflows.
• Experience with data modelling, data marts, and cloud data warehouses.
• Experience with Spark, Airflow, or similar technologies in a cloud environment such as AWS.
• Familiarity with real-time and batch data workloads, data transformation, and orchestration patterns.
• Experience with CI/CD, Terraform, Docker, Ray, Parquet, or Iceberg is beneficial.
