Product Owner (Finance)

Location: Lisbon, Portugal; hybrid position with 1 office day

What you will do

• Own and continuously groom the product backlog, translating business needs into user stories, epics, requirements, and acceptance criteria.
• Review and prioritize enhancements, defects, and BAU requests according to business value, effort, urgency, dependencies, and strategic commitments.
• Coordinate Business Analysts, developers, NS specialists, Finance stakeholders, IT, and delivery teams to plan releases and minimize disruption.
• Apply Agile practices for iterative work and Waterfall or structured project management for larger fixed-scope initiatives.
• Lead sprint and release planning, track scope, timelines, budget, delivery velocity, backlog health, and BAU ticket trends.
• Own UAT planning and sign-off, maintain product documentation and roadmaps, and drive improvements to product management tools and processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 4–5 years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or Business Analyst, ideally covering BAU operations and project delivery.
• Experience managing and prioritizing product backlogs and enhancement requests against ongoing support demands.
• Working knowledge of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban, and Waterfall project management.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar tools, plus strong stakeholder management, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Fluent English required; occasional travel for meetings, training, or conferences may be required.

Nice to have

• CSPO, PMI-ACP, PMP, PRINCE2, SAFe, or another relevant certification.
