Team Lead, Financial Reporting

Location: Manila, Philippines; hybrid work with time split between the office and home

What you will do

• Lead the day-to-day management of a small financial reporting team and assign work across the team.
• Prepare and review financial statements, schedules of investments, explanatory notes, and tax reporting data for mutual funds, hedge funds, and fund-of-hedge-fund clients.
• Organize priorities, monitor activities, and ensure accurate and timely completion of cyclical reporting deliverables.
• Analyze and resolve discrepancies, coordinate corrections with home-country counterparts, and respond to external audit queries.
• Manage performance, career development, staffing, and disciplinary processes.
• Interact with clients, external auditors, senior management, and junior employees as a subject matter expert and mentor.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of people management experience and 7 years of overall experience in financial statement preparation or financial reporting within an audit firm or financial institution.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Knowledge of accounting and regulatory concepts, financial instruments, and investment products.
• Excellent IT and systems skills; Microsoft Excel and Word are essential.
• Fluent English is required, with strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work 7AM–4PM or 11AM–8PM, depending on the US, UK, or Ireland financial reporting team.

Nice to have

• Certified Public Accountant qualification.
• Experience with regulatory or statutory reporting, tax reporting, system transitions, consolidation, and reconciliations.
• Experience with SunGard InvestOne, Confluence/FundARC Suite, Bloomberg, or Reuters.
• Knowledge of US GAAP, UK GAAP, Luxembourg GAAP, Swiss GAAP, and IFRS.
