Senior Project Manager - Program Excellence (Data Centers)

What you will do

• Lead the Japan Development Program Excellence function and manage the Scheduling and Program Management team.
• Establish governance frameworks, planning standards, programme KPIs, portfolio metrics, and executive reporting practices.
• Develop and continuously improve integrated baseline programmes from site acquisition through operational handover, including BTM power, modular, off-site manufactured, and containerised delivery models.
• Optimise project sequencing, procurement, prefabrication, factory acceptance testing, and industrialised construction strategies.
• Review contractor programmes, perform gap and critical path analyses, manage schedule risks, and develop recovery programmes.
• Maintain portfolio visibility, lead digital programme management initiatives, develop dashboards, and share best practices across the APAC portfolio.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of experience in programme management, project controls, or planning for major infrastructure, mission-critical, or hyperscale data centre developments.
• Experience developing portfolio-level integrated master programmes and performing CPM, schedule risk analysis, and recovery planning.
• Strong expertise in programme optimisation, contractor programme review, stakeholder management, commercial analysis, and executive communication.
• Hands-on experience with project scheduling software; Oracle Primavera P6 is preferred and Microsoft Project is acceptable.
• Fluency in Japanese and English is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with hyperscale data centres, modular or containerised infrastructure, and off-site construction.
• Experience with BTM power generation, AI-ready or liquid-cooled data centres, Digital Twin, BIM 4D/5D, or AI-enabled planning.
• Knowledge of Japanese permitting, utilities, and the construction market.
• Experience leading programme controls teams, supporting investment committee approvals, or working across APAC portfolios.
